Folder Redirection (how smart is it?)

We are debating folder redirection merits in our org and had a scenario based
question hopefully someone could answer. A user saves a PST in my documents
(which is setup to redirect to our file server). The PST is an auto archive
that runs every two weeks. The original file is 100MB (its already been
redirected) two weeks later the PST is 110MB with only items having been
added over the last two weeks. Will the entire 110MB be transferred over
after the user logs off or will only difference (10MB) between the files be
transferred?

Thanks in advance.

I suspect it is dumb way, the whole thing. why, once upon a time I had
redirected my documents to server, I had large files infrequently touched.
It still take a along time to log in/off. worse if roaming.

We use share folder mounted on H: or whatever you like and use as my
documents and not use redirect, .
the my document folder is either set to no access or is deleted
the user's home is pointed to h:.
