folks,

We are running a small LAN here with one Win 2000 Server (at SP4, with
SBS installed) and a number of XP clients. I inherited the install
from a previous IT manager and am gradually getting around to a number
of items on my "to-do" list, one of which is setting up Remote Folders
for a number of our users , typically freelancers who will not have a
regular desktop but instead either use their own laptop or a "pool"
machine here in our office.

I have been looking at Remote Folders but do not see this option in
the Group Policy snap-in. The options I see under "User Configuration
/ WIndows Settings" are:

- Internet Explorer Maintenance
- Scripts
- Security Settings
- Remote Installation Policy

Any ideas?

I had all the options disappear apart from remote installation
services. To get them back I had to do the following:

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\gptext.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\fde.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\scecli.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\ieaksie.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\wsecedit.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\iedkcs32.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\appmgr.dll

Not sure which DLL corresponds to which option. Worth a go if no
other solution
