Is it possible to set individual View Properties for Folders in XP.

It appears that the settings are all the same, and a Thumbnail view
for my Pictures Folder is great, but not too good for my Documents
Folder.

Open an explorer window, set the view to details, or whatever you like.
From the Tools Menu select Folder Options.
On the view tab select Apply to all folders
In the Advanced Settings scroll down until you see "Remember each folders
view settings" and select it.

So now all folders have been set to details view, but if you change the view
of a folder it should be remebered.

Yes that's how it should work, but my XP Home won't do that! The view settings of most (not all) folders constantly change, no matter how many times I put them right, on the next opening they're totally different. Some might remain stable for days, then they'll be all over the place! Very annoying. And then there's the errors, hangs, and crashes. The problem seems to be made worse with each Windows Update
