Folder Properties not working?

I'm running XP Home with all fixes installed.

When I r-click on ANY folder and select 'Properties' or the 'Sharing and
Security...' options nothing happens? I have no idea what I may have
installed or tweaked to cause this to happen.

For what it's worth File sharing is working within my home LAN workgroup
(WinXP Home, Win 2k and WinME machines). All machines see each other and
previously shared files and folders. I can move files back and forth.

Any ideas what I may have done to trigger this? and more importantly, how to
correct it?

Thanks, Bryan

try:
Kelly's site has a reg file to correct that

Thanks Val. Any chance you'd have a copy of the recommendations made on
Kelly's site? That page seems to be missing in action. Followed your
direct link and also searched the site which references the same defunct
url.

Bryan,
I pulled this link from a posting I found by searching the newsgroup. It
should start the download directly. I tried to find the info and page
linking to it on Kelly's site, but there's a lot to weed thru.

FYI - I actually didn't get a chance to try Kelly's fix(es). My free trial
of Norton Internet Security expired so I uninstalled it.... Magically my
properties were once again available.

Thanks for the pointers... I'm sure that I'll find a use for the many
tweaks on Kelly's site.
