On my xp system I cannot make a folder private. When I right click, the tab
for make folder private is shaded. The harddisk is NTFS format.

Furthermore, how does one make a folder inaccessible to other users, i.e.;
stop entry of others to the folder on xp?

Any comments would help, along any urls to web sights providing write-ups on
such topics (profiles and taking ownerships) and the like.

I couldn't figure out how to hide some JPGs when my son visits, as he
usesw my computer. I couldn't figure out how to hide folders either,
so I bought a program online that lets me hide any kind of folder or
sub-folders. The best one I could find, pricewise & ease of use, is
called "Hide Folders XP". I think it was $25. It isn't complicated,
you just highlight a folder & press a button & and it becomes
invisible. & to un-hide it you do the same.

It has password protection to use it. I do not know if you can
access a folder when itis hidden though. I've never tried & I've
never read the help file. I onl need to use occasionally.

I beleive you can download a free version to check it out, however
password protection will not work. Search the web using that file
name.
