How do you provide a limited user the permission to read & write to a
folder and its sub-folders?

According to help, "To view effective permissions on files and folders",
there is suppose to be a security tab when you view the folder's
properties. So now what. TIA!

I suppose read the page carefully.

If Pro this is the exact text from help.

Per help:

"To display the Security tab
Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Folder Options.
On the View tab, under Advanced settings, clear Use simple file sharing
[Recommended]. "

I did the above & still do not have the security tab while logged in as
on under an account as an administrator type. BTW the folder is on an
NTFS drive.

In help under "To set, view, change, or remove file and folder
permissions" topic for notes it states "To change permissions, you must
be the owner or have been granted permission to do so by the owner."

I only have 3 accounts:
Administrator
Myself as an Administrator type
Myself as a limited user type

I've logged in as all 3 and none see the security tab.

BTW an "important.gif" is rather suspicious. Explain!

important.gif is just the name of a symbol; in help.

XP Home needs to log on in Safe Mode to get the tab. Try that.

Yes booting into Safe Mode will get you the security tab. I wonder why
you have to go to safe mode before you have access. Other notable it
looks like the permission change on the limited account for PopFile is
working. Thanks!
