Why can an XP Pro pc see files on the server that are
protected and it hasn't been given rights to view them. A
couple of specific folders have been protected by allowing
only certain users to be able to access them. The XP Pro
pc is able to access them without even being logged on to
the domain. No other pc, including another XP pc, can
access the files. I'm baffled as to why this is
happening.. any suggestions?

If the user has a logon name and password that matches a user that has access to that
server, then they get in and don't have to log onto the domain if they are logged
onto their local machine. You could enable auditing of logon events to see as what
user that person is being authenticated as or look at the sessions for the
rver. --- Steve
