Simple question from a newbie, Can anyone tell me how to give a new domain
user account access to one specific folder (and its subfolders)only or
conversely deny access to all folders except one (and its subfolders)
please ? All other users will still need access.
folder is on a w2k ntfs fileserver c:\foldername
Thanks in advance

This is something that your network/server administrator
should do for you.

thanks pegasus, this is a small co. and unfortunately we dont have one at
the moment, i have the administrator pw though and have been asked to sort
it out, so any help would be handy

If a small gardening business decided to maintain the automatic
transmission of its business car by themselves because they
could not afford to pay a mechanical workshop then you would
probably say that they were crazy. Yet this is pretty much what
you are attempting to do. The consequences can be disastrous
for your business. Get professional help for your server! You
can get it by the hour and remotely, i.e. without anyone
having to come to your office.

To set appropriate permissions, right-click the folder in question,
then click "Permissions" and assign them as required.
