Folder Options

Folder views are arbitrarily resetting themselves from a
reduced window size to maximum (full screen)size and from
Icon view to Detail view. This is occurring even
with 'remember each folder's view settings' checked under
Tools, Folder Options, View. After experimenting with
the 'Apply to All Folders' and 'Reset All Folders'
choices the views will hold for a few openings but then
revert back to the full screen/detail view. Reinstalling
Windows XP had no effect nor did the Service Pack 1 or
other updates. How can this be reinitialized to perform
properly? Thanks.
