Even though I have set my folder options using Tools > Folder Options... >
View > Apply to All Folders, I still sometimes get folders with completely
different views. I can understand if a folder remembers the last view and
uses it, but that's not what is happening here. For example, some folders
use the Tiles view, which I never used.

Is this completely random or is there a method to this madness?

Didn't work. I even used TweakUI to set the "Folders to remember" to
64K. Any other ideas?

What happens when you toggle "remember each folder's view settings", in
Windows Explorer|TOOLS|FOLDER OPTIONS|VIEW tab?
