I have a wierd problem with my new XP system. Everytime I
log in with my profile, and all the programs are done
loading the C:\Windows\Sys32 folder opens automatically.
I have went in to the tools, folder options, view tab and
checked and unchecked the "Restore previous folders
window at logon" but no matter which setting, the folder
still opens up. There is nothing in my startup folder, or
nothing that I can find in MSCONFIG that reflects this
folder opening.

What is the cause of this? How can I fix it? It is a
brand new PC with XP Pro.

You'll find a fix for this part of the problem at line 260, right:
"System32 folder opens upon boot."

(You might want to browse around the website while you're there,
paying particular attention to the A-Z. It's an excellent resource for
all things XP.)

A few people have had the registry problem with the SB Audigy 2 entry.
If your not comfortable with directly editing the registry the following
should work if the problem is with Audigy.

Go to Program files\Creative\SBAudigy 2\program\startup Menu

There you will find Audigy.exe - double click it.

When the window opens check "Don't show me this again" and close the window.

This method removed the bogus entry in my registry without my having to edit
the registry directly.

This solved the bootup problem on my system. It my not on yours but it can
do no harm to try.
