I just got a notebook computer with Vista Home Premium, and I had a data
transfer to the computer from my old XP computer.

One of the folders ("My Music") in the new Vista computer will not delete.
It says that I am not authorized to delete it or even access it (I am the
only one who uses this computer). I am able to see the contents by using the
sidebar in the computer, however.

How can I edit or delete the folder?

If you are not authorized to delete it there should be an override button
with a little shield on it to escalate privileges. Is that button not there?

Hi,

This was a problem for me with transfering files as well. It appears that
the files from XP still have the security from XP.

Right Click the Folder - Choose Properties. Go to the Security Tab- Click
Advanced - Go to Owner Tab - Click Edit - Under Change Owner to select
Administrator and then tick the box to do all subcontainers and objects and
click Apply. This will give you ownership. Now you need to give yourself
full-control.
Right Click the Folder - Choose Properties. Go to the Security Tab-Click
Edit button - Click Administrators and tick Full Control in the boxes and
click Apply.

Cheers,
Lara
