folder lock or folder encryption..

Any one have a good one to try?..I have a couple in mind from some google
links but I would like some options....must be simple, easy to use, drag
feature, and does not take up much memory......for winxp home...........

I experimented with quite a few last year before settling on AxCrypt.
Be sure to try it out before you decide. This is a very small open
source freeware programme available at http://axcrypt.sourceforge.net/
You can use it to encrypt and password-protect anything, including
folders. After 3 months of daily use I have no complaints.

There is a freeware program called FolderLock which sounds good, but
it doesn't work very well on XP; and I found a virus in a similar
programme I tried, so be cautious to download from trusted sites only.

Cryptomathic File2File is my favorite. Free for personal use. It's a shell
integration so that encrypt/decrypt becomes a right click option.

Have a look at Blowfish Advanced CS - not sure if it works on XP
though.

If you want to compare File2File with AxCrypt go to
http://axcrypt.sourceforge.net/ and click on FAQ.
IMHO, Axcrypt is better in many ways.

Try to avoid close source crypto application like File2File. You never know
if there are backdoors.
AxCrypt is opensource! That is a big plus in my view.

Also some other good freeware including a card game I've never heard of.
Xeri is based on a game which is played in Greece

Thanks , I will bookmark and download later. I did see the axcrypt on a
Google link and I had it on my mind. It seems like I ran acroos FolderLock
or something very close to it-on Google, and I ran across it on sover or sos
site I found at a Google link. The site link to FolderLock was tagged
with a not available for reasons of it being spyware. If I find that link
I will post it here.
