Hello,

My colleague has roaming profile and he has folders on his desktop.
Yesterday he logged on and one of these folders disappeared. When I try to
recover it from previous versions of shared folder where is his profile
stored, it is there with most of it content but there is missing presentation
he was working last week and it says that the folder was on his desktop at
the time of taking snapshots even though physically it is absent for one day
already. I tried some software for recovering deleted files with no luck.
Server Backup has the same version as vss backup - it has most of files but
the presentation. Colleague denies that he deleted the folder and I have no
clue about how it could disappear. This issue is very important, can some help?

Thank you very much

I'd be inclined to check Recent Documents, MRU lists etc, just to confirm
that the file *was* where he says. Been there that many times, where they
end up saying, "Oh no, you're right, I think it could have been on the
Z:\-drive actually...".

You might be able to do something with undelete software.

The key point to realise, though, is that a roaming profile is not a backup.
It might at first appear so, but deletion of files from one copy removes them
from the other at next logon/logoff.

Repeats time-honoured litany..

BACKUP..
BACKUP..
BACKUP..
