This has got be simple, but how do you get EVERY folder on the computer to
view the same in explorer, ie: with details and get Windows to remember
settings.

Using Win XP Home with latest service pack and updates.

Thanks.

Steve.

Open Windows Explorer, View, select "Details".
While Windows Explorer is still open, go to Tools, Folder Options, View &
click on "Apply to all folders"

Tools/Folder Options/View/Apply to all folders.
Make sure that 'Remember each folder's view settings' is ticked.

.

Open any file browser. Change the view settings, arrange
method etc. to the way you want the defaults to be. Go
to the Tools menu, select options, go to the View tab and
click Apply to All Folders. Voila.
