folder inaccessible

I'm pretty sure this is a common problem, but I've tried
several different things and can't get it to work. When
attempting to "Open Web", I input the url including the
http:// and click open. I then get the error below:

"The folder 'http://example.com/' isn't accesible. The
folder may be located in an unavailable location,
protected with a password, or the filename contains a /
or \."

I have tried many different suggestions that I found in
the newsgroup, but nothing is working. This is a new
FP2002 install on a new WinXP install. I have tried
removing extensions from the site, from the server,
reinstalling FP2002, recalculating web, check FP
extensions.

Is there a resolution? I remember this happening last
year once, and our only solution then was to move the
sites to a new server. Now that server is acting up.

Please help!

Could you please tell us what different suggestions you tried, so we don't
repeat ourselves, and can perhaps further try to identify the problem?
