Folder in Favorites disappear

I created a new folder for my Favorites. The next day, the folder is gone.
The rest of my folders are still there, and it's not like I have a zillion
folders. Why does this one keep disappearing?
 
Do you mean a new folder within your Favorites folder? Is it visible in
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Favorites when viewed from My Computer
or Windows Explorer?
