When using explorer, I had a user move some folders into a
new folder accidentally. Inside this new folder is a
folder that was apparently automatically created with the
original parent folder name. Is that possible? And how
do I recreate it??

Thanks!!!

I am not sure that I understand the question.
Are you saying there is a parent folder that has the same name as a
sub-foler, such as:
Test
Test
This is entirely possible. They just cannot have the same names at the
same folder lever such as:
Parent Test
subfolder Test
subfolder Test
Automatically generated folders usually have the name NewFolder.

That should not be possible. When you copy or drag an object from one
location to another, only that object or objects should be effected. So, if
he copied a folder into another folder, it would copy the entire folder and
it's contents. If he opened he folder and just dragged over the files, then
only the files should appear in the target folder. I have never seen it
behave in any other way. Can you reproduce this yourself?

I have never seen this happen before either. Say for
example I have a parent folder called Test, and a
subfolder called Test Sub. In explorer, I'd see Test and
several other folders on the same level like

Test1
Test

Test Sub

Test2

Now the user dragged Test Sub into Test 2. In Test 2 it
automatically created a folder named Test and put Test Sub
in that folder. So it looks like this:

Test1
Test
Test2
Test
Test Sub

shouldn't it just create a folder called Test Sub???
I can't seem to recreate it, when I do it looks like this

Test1
Test
Test2
Test Sub

Sorry if this looks confusing.
But I don't know how they did it. They say the folders
were accidentally moved, but I didn't know Windows could
automatically create a folder with the original parent
name.

I appreciate any help!
Thanks
