I have several folders of MP3 files and every time I open these folders, I
need to right-click on the header (detail view) and choose to show bit rate
and audio sample rate. Even though I have gone into properties and tried to
indicate I want this to be a custom folder and save the settings, I can't
figure out the trick to get the columns to stick. Once I log out and back in
to windows (XP, SP2) the custom settings for the folder are gone. How do I
get them to stay permanently?

Thanks!

Any difference if you go to View => Choose Details, rather than
clicking the header?

I only get the header if I am in Details. I need the choices to stick!

Thanks, Tony

You might try making the changes you want and then instead of "x" to exit
folder, in the File Menu (top), select "Close".
For me, this will save the folder view settings to the registry.

Hope this helps!

Hello Anthony Bollinger

I think Your Problem is Quiet Simple

Right Click on any one of the Grey Column Headings and Tick and Untick
Whatever you want

Then

1. Tools Menu > Folder Options > View tab
2. Under Folder Views
3. Click the 'Apply to All Folders' button and close folder options
4. Open Folder Options again on the View tab and click "Apply to all folders"
