folder cannot retain customization?

I have a folder that is showing icon view.

If I change it to details view, change to another folder, then come back to
this folder, it reverts to icon view. What could possibly be wrong?

I notice the folder has a grey check mark on the read-only property. If I
uncheck it, click ok and then look at the folder properties again, it agains
shows the grey check mark.

I also used tweakUI to change "Folders to remember" to 2000, but that
shouldn't have an effect on this problem since I'm just changing one folder.

Hello Peter,

Thank you for posting here.

You could try to use attrib -r command to modify the Read-Only attribute.

In addition, you may browse the following web sites for related information:

You Cannot View or Change the Read-Only or System Attribute of Folders
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326549

Unable to Remove Read-Only Attribute from Folder

If you have any other issues, please feel free to let me know. I am glad to
be of assistance.

Have a nice day!

Thanks and regards,

Alex Zhang

| Hi Peter,
|
| TweakUI's "remember folder settings.." is not effective. You may download
the following registry
| edit and run it, which will fix the folder customisation problem.
|
| Increase folder view size to 8000 (line 2, left column)
