Folder Backup Add-In Missing

S

Steve James

Outlook crashed on me, and I had to do a repair install.
Now the Personal Folders "Backup" command is missing from the file menu.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Folders Backup add-in and it still
won't appear.
If I go into COM Add-ins the "Outlook Backup addin" is unchecked - and if I
enable it, it keeps disabling itself seconds later.

I even deleted the "outbak.dll" file from the Addins folder and installed it
again and it didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas??

We have several PCs with XP and Office 2003 running Personal Folders Backup.
We setup a server and had the workstations join the domain. So effectively
each user is a new user although on the same PC. We transferred their files
including the Outlook PST file from the old iser profile to the new one using
File Settings Transfer Wizard.

Now when we go into Outlook there is no backup option. If we try to
reinstall Personal Folders Backup it says it is already installed and we
should answer yes to the next question to uninstall the old version. When we
answer yes it says:
"This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."

Any ideas?
