Folder appearing after startup

D

Darryl

I have recently tried to update my HP 5100c Deskjet
scanner driver for my Windows XP OS.

But now whenever I power up my PC, a Windows Explorer
window "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32" pops up and I would like to
stop this folder from popping up each time after I reboot
my pc.

Please help.

Hi there,

Try the Kelly patch to fix this problem.

http://www.kellys-korner-
xp.com/regs_edits/xp_system32opens.vbs

Usage: Download the file to your computer and simply
double-click it so that it would automatically get
installed. Norton anti-virus software might warn you of
a "malicious" script, this is normal if you have "Script
Safe" or similar technology enabled. I recommend you to
choose "Authorize entire script" option next Action.

HTH, happy 2004!
