For those of you who are having the problem with getting your toolbars to stay the way you customized them because of the added HP View toolbar, here is the fix.

Go to -Start- and then -Run-. Type in "msconfig" and press enter. Click on the -Startup- tab and unclick everything but the following: hpsysdrv, hkcmd, kbd, rundll32. After that, reboot the computer. A message will pop up (I don't remember exactly what it says) and you'll click to ignore (or something along those lines). And after this everything should be fixed.

The only thing I don't like about this method is on my computer, after it show my HP screen (from bootup) I get a black screen that asks whether I want to start Windows XP or use my System Restore. Now this screen only stays up for a couple of seconds but I'm a perfectionist and it drives me nuts. But so far that's the only side effect I've seen. And if you do have problems it's very simple to go back and fix.

Hope this helps. Let me know if it does or doesn't.

Please research your information carefully before offering to others. Your
fix is incorrect and can cause serious problems for most users.

What is the "HP View toolbar"?

You may have had success but for the records,

hpsysdrv.exe
This item keeps track of how many times the system has been recovered and
the times of the first and last recoveries done on the system. Leaving
unchecked will sometimes prevent the Keyboard Manager program from detecting
that the computer is an HP. Since this program/driver was only made to run
on HP, if it can't tell that it is an HP it will not run. If unchecked, it
can prevent the running of the Application Recovery CDs, the use of the
multimedia keys, and the HP Instant Support. Also seen that without it
running, the Riptide Sound card that was installed on some older HP
computers stops working

hkcmd.exe
Installed by the Intel 810 and 815 chipset graphic drivers. If you want the
Ctrl+Alt+F12 or similar keypresses to access Intel's customised graphics
properties, you need it, otherwise not. Can be disabled via the Display
Properties in Control Panel
---

Kbd
2690 Daemon SK9910DM.exe
Multimedia keyboard manager - required if you use any special keys

Other similar processes at the source site below.

Could be used by many things, check it out it may be a virus.
