Is there a way to make a picture on a screen fly off to
the right after a certain amount of time or upon a mouse
click? All I can figure out is how to make things fly and
appear ON. Thanks!

But there's nothing for 2000?

If I develop this on my friend's 2002 version, would it
work on my client's desktops with 2000? Most of my
clients have 2000 on their machine.

Unfortunately, no! Any animation used in 2002 or 2003 (that is new) is not
recognized in 2000 and results in the object appearing as soon as the slide
appears (no animation). Someone else might have a solution, but as far as I
know, there isn't one other than upgrading. When you consider the amount of
new animations features in 2002 or 2003, it is well worth upgrading. But
then again if your client has 2002 it won't help much. Maybe you can show
them what they "could" get if they had the newer version!

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

This is the kind of thing that is very easy to do if you have the right
version of PowerPoint.

Exit animation effects were added to PowerPoint with the release of
PowerPoint 2002 for Windows and PowerPoint 2001 for the Macintosh. With
those versions as well as the latest versions of both products (PowerPoint
2003 for Windows, PowerPoint X for Macintosh OS X), adding an exit
animation effect is very easy to do. Since my main focus in PowerPoint for
Windows, I'll describe the steps for PowerPoint 2002 and 2003:

1) Select Object
2) Slide Show -> Custom Animation <this brings up the Custom Animation
(CA) task pane>
3) In the CA task pane click the Add Effect button and choose one of the
effects available from the Exit menu.
