If it is actually an icon, you can replace your desktop icons manually.
I think the parrot is an application, so to prevent it from running..
1. Make sure it is not in your startup folder (All Programs > Startup)
If it is, right click the item and select delete
2. Try to uninstall the program from the control panel
3. Prevent it from starting manually
Click Start
Click Run
Type in msconfig
Click OK
Select startup tab
Unselect any items possibly related to the parrot, but leave unknown
items checked
Apply, close, and restart... when your computer restarts, check the box
to not show the window again
