Someone posted the answer to why the OpenGL screen saver, Flowerz,
doesn't accept the OpenGL version of the last couple of Catalyst
releases. But I can't find it!

Anyone remember what the issue was and if there was a fix?

That was me. According to the author, if Flowerz detects
OpenGL 2.0 or higher capability in your video driver it will
refuse to run, and displays an error that your "OpenGL
version is too old".

It has other version problems as well, because I get the same
error message with Cat 4.12, and an OpenGL version of
1.5 not 2.0 (which according to the author should be fine).

After several email exchanges he finally said to just wait for
the "new" version. He's no longer developing the old one.
It was written using Nvidia hardware and drivers, and he's
obviously never tested it with ATI stuff.

Thanks, I remember you now! I was ok on cat 5.2, but I've just gone to
5.6... and it's goodnight and thank you! Never mind, I'll wait, and
thanks for the information. I'm not going to downgrade for one screen
saver.
