Floppy Problem!

Hi,
I do not use a floppy very often but when I have checked my machine it
will not work. Any help appreciated.
Details:
Super Micro P6SBA
Windows 98
Celeron 333Mhz
18 Ghz HD (C) Primary Master
120Mhz LS120 Primary Slave (B)
Liteon CD Writer Secondary Master
Creative CDROM Secondary Slave
Floppy 1.44Mhz on Floppy M/B Skt (A)
When I boot everything seems OK.
Place Known good disk in "A".
No light comes on, but when I go to "My Computer" it lights and runs
but the machine semi-freezes up.
The floppy is connected to the end connector and the pin 1 is nearest to
the power connector.
I have changed both the drive and cable with known good one's (I
thought), but the floppy will not run.
I have had this problem in the past but cannot remember how I solved it!
I think it could be a BIOS compatibility problem with the LS120.
Thanks

Back when I was using an LS120 I discovered that you could not even have a
floppy in the system since the LS120 acts like the floppy. I would suggest
just remove the floppy and use the LS120 as the only floppy drive. If you
need more than one floppy in the system then you need to remove the LS120 to
add a second floppy. I did this when my last LS120 died.

I have no idea how you managed that, I tried an LS120 drive but I couldn't
remove the floppy drive. Also installing an LS120 drive is very dangerous
when installing on a preinstalled OS.

You lost me on this one. I have used an LS120 in conjunction with a regular
FDD on both Windows 98 and XP with no conficts or issues :-)

Yes I fairly sure I had the same but when playing around with various
hardware I seem to have lost it!
Anyway as there was a major Computer Fair near bye today, I bought new
floppy and cable but results the same.
I just tried physically removing the LS120 and put "not installed" in
BIOS which I thought would produce a good "A" floppy but it did not.
I am now beginning to think that I got over this before by re-installing
the OS as eluded to in other posts, but I am not doing that again!I think I will do this as it seems to be OK as "A" or "B" (which was how
it was configured but sometimes a problem when old S/W wanted me to use
"A").
