Does anyone know the fix for XP not being able to read or
format a floppy disk? This seems to be a XP flaw and not
on other OS's.

You may want to check your floppy.I just copied an old
floppy(some word docs)to My Documents just fine (XP pro)

I know that there was a Hotfix taht may cause the CD/Floppy/Zip drives from
working correctly. I do not remove the number at the momment but I do know
that MS has a fix for this that is being shipped with SP2 (released
version). You can also call MS support and ask for the fix now, but you may
be charged for it.

Thanks for the info. My floppy is working OK but i,ve seen
many posts on other forums of XP users having that
problem. I'm trying to find the fix before I need it.
