floppy drive

My floppy drive is inaccessible. The drive is not listed in Windows Explorer and the drive properties states that it is working properly. I have tried repairing windows XP and it didn’t fix the problem. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix the problem?
 
If nothing has changed since the last time the drive worked, then it could simply be a bad drive. New floppy drives are ~$50. You could try replacing it and see if that fixes the problem.

simply be a bad drive. New floppy drives are ~$50. You could try replacing
