Yesterday I tried to copy a file to a floppy disk. With
a disk in the drive, I got the message 'Please insert a
disk into drive A:'. I removed and re-inserted the disk,
then got the message 'Disk in drive A: not formatted,
want to format now?', to which I said no and just figured
that the disk may have been to close to the monitor.
Today, a friend of mine said he had the same thing happen
to him, and he tried three different disks. I'm going to
check with Norton. Any ideas here?

Thanks

Hi,

Try this way, boot in safe mode and login as
administrator, go to device manager, double click the
floppy disk controller, right click the standard floppy
disk controller and select unistall and then click the OK
button. Reboot to normal and then check the floppy disk
again, it should work normally.
If still no avail, try clean the floppy disk head with
the head cleaner. You can buy the cleaning kit from many
computer accessories shop.
If still no good, the floppy disk may become faulty.
Buy a new one around $10.-
