I can't access my Floppy Drive "A". It doesn't show up
anywhere on any file systems list. I tried uninstalling
it and reinstalling it. The computer says everything is
working properly, but it doesn't show up anywhere. Does
anyone know how I can get it back?

Thank You,
Bob Evans

Check your BIOS and ensure that your BIOS is configured to use a floppy
drive. (This is usually on the first screen in the bios, also where you
configure your IDE hard drives.)

The OS will only show the A:\ drive if the BIOS tells the operating system
that a floppy is present.

if you have a dos boot disk, try that first, if that works then you have a
windows problem
Look back about a month and you'll see another thread on
the same subject. It's M$ whine 2000. There is a "media
identifier" set when you format a floppy in a 98SE or
later machine that 2k seems to require, sometimes.

Reformatting the disk may help, but how you do this if the
machine won't recognise it is beyond me. (another machine?)
