Floppy Drive Spins When Launch Internet Explorer

R

Rick

Hi All,

My floppy drive will sometimes spin when I launch
Internet Explorer. I have Internet Explorer version
6.0. There is no disk in the floppy drive. This
phenomenon does not occur all the time. It did it just a
minute ago, when I launched IE after being away from my
computer for a while. The screen-save had been on just
prior.

I just tried to open another session of IE, and it
happened again. I closed that session, and then started
another one without the floppy-drive spinning.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

A recent document may be accessing the floppy drive. Go to the Recent folder
and delete all files. Recent folder is hidden in Windows XP.

Thank you very much. I went into the Recent folder from
windows explorer, and deleted all the shortcuts that my
daughter had been using. She works off a floppy.

Worked like a charm.
