Hi have put in a floppy into my computer which does not
recognise any disks. The lights on the floppy show that
there is power but whenever I put in a disk it says that
there is no disk in? I have even purchased a new floppy
disk and put that in but have exactly the same problem.
Do I need to configure the floppy somewhere?

Is the light constantly on?
If so, it's not supposed to be.. Turn over your ribbon cable.

And is it detecting it in the BIOS? (or is it set correctly?)

ye i think it is on all the time but when i turn over the
ribbon cable the light doesnt turn on at all. How do I
see where it is detected in the bios...I have seen legacy
diskette 1.44 mb shown in the bios so I assume it is
recognised in the bios.
