computer virgin

Hi there,
Hoping someone can help me out here. I am trying
to access info. on floppy discs on my home computer,
however I am continually told my discs are not formatted.
Furthermore my computer will not allow me to format them.
These discs do however work fine at work. I have bought
and tried a drive cleaner disc but this has made no
difference. Any suggestions?
Thanks :-)

You might look in the bios and see if the floppy is set
to 1.44 mb or set otherwise. Also, check and see if those
disks from work are standard 1.44 mb disks.

First of all what os is the work machine running on?
Example: If your work computer is running windows 98' than it's FAT 32
and your home computer is running on NTSF (or it could be FAT32).
You cannot format the floppy dive in FAT32 and then copy programs or
files onto it and then try to access the floppy running with a NTSF
system.

Next I suggest you check the home floppy drive. It may not be working
correctly.

Have you tried to run other floppy disks on the home unit?
Does it work?

Hope this helps!
