Floppy disk(s) fail (40)

When I boot up my computer, I get this error message:

Floppy disk(s) fail (40)

What would be the steps I need to correct this? Thanks

Well - if you have a floppy diskette drive - make sure it is connected to
the machine properly - no bent pins, powered, etc.
If it is - it may be defective. If you still need one - get a replacement.
Otherwise - go into the BIOS and disable the floppy diskette drive there.
