Without knowing the exact error it's hard to diagnose, but here are some
pointers ...
Is the floppy making a rubbing sound as it spins? You might be able to
switch the cookie inside the disk to another floppy case. This is delicate
work, usually an exacto knife is good for this, and you have to be sure not
to get your fingerprints on the cookie.
Is there NO sound from the floppy? Or does the drive access light not come
on when you try to read from it? Check for a loose cable at the back of the
drive. There are 2, one smaller 4 pin and a wide flat cable. Plug and
unplug them a few times. This action cleans the contacts.

It said something about, "drive, " and now it just states, "invalid." CanDiane0627 said:I saved a 5 page research paper on a floppy disk, and now it won't open.
