floppy disk error

does anyone know how to retreve data from a floppy that is now saying
unformatted? there are several word docs located on the disk and i am unable
to retreve them now?
 
Try a different computer (preferably with Win 9X loaded)
especially if the floppy was created on a different computer
than the one you are trying to read the disk with. If you
get the files onto the other computer, copy them to a USB
drive, CD or some other device than a floppy. XP just
doesn't handle floppy drives/disks very well.
