Floppy "A" going wild

recently my system started accessing my floppy at random. It damaged on floppy and when I replaced it the problem got worse. Ir reads and writes ok just tries to access at random. If I leave a floppy in there it spins all the time and ruins the floppy. Anyone know what is wrong? Could this be an IRQ conflict? Any help is appreciated.
 
Hi Fengland,

Have you tried going to Device Manager and uninstalling that floppy
drive?
Then reboot and let Windows XP install it with the drivers.
