I dont see the floating datasheet with charts in Excel
2000.
I have user who has created a chart and wants to
hide/remove data and add more data to the chart without
recreating the chart each time.
Can someone help please?

The floating data sheet is part of MS Graph, the watered down charting
utility that makes the default chart types in other Office apps, like
PowerPoint and Word. Excel's charts deal directly with data in the
worksheets. You can manipulate the worksheet data range to change what
the charts are plotting. If there are some specific problems the user is
having, or some particular tasks that are needed, post back with more
details.

Thanks Jon,
I was looking for the datasheet that I see in PowerPoint
etc.
The issue here is:
This user has a complex worksheet with weekly totals in
each column and a monthly average after that. Each row as
number of calls received, number of tickets opened, number
of closed tickets etc
Initially the chart displays weekly totals only. After the
end of a quarter (eg. April), he wants to show on the
chart only the Averages for Jan, Feb, and March. He keeps
on adding data for the rest of the year, but wants to roll
up to average at the end of each quarter. The columns are
somewhat like this:
Mar-wk1 Mar-wk2 Mar-wk3 Mar-wk4 Mar-Average Apr-wk1 Apr-
wk2 Apr-wk3 Apr-wk4 April-Average

Hiding columns takes the data from the chart. but what if
the user wants to display the data in the worksheet, but
remove from the line chart.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Mary

Sometimes you need to have two data regions, one for display, and the
other for the chart. One is linked to the other, so if one changes, it's
reflected also in the other. The chart data can be moved out of the
visible range of the sheet.
