Flip 3D

It seems as if clicking on a certain flipped window does not necessarily
bring that particular window into focus. It's as if it has a mind of it's
own. Anyone else noticed that? Or, am I using it wrong?

Thanks,

Can't say that I've seen anything like this. When you say "certain flipped
window" are you saying that this happens only with a specific application, or
are you saying that it can happen with any random application window?

My guess would be that the most likely cause of this would be an errant
mouse driver / cursor issue. Ever notice how a mouse cursor can appear to be
in two or more different locations? (Actually, I've never seen this happen in
Vista, either. I think it's more likely an issue with GDI, like in XP.) I've
seen someone click with what appeared to be the active cursor over a button
or file selection or what-have-you, and it turned out that the other cursor
"instance" was the active one. But I just haven't seen anything remotely like
this sort of behavior in Vista.

To clarify, when using the flip, let's say I have ten windows that I'm
flipping through. Then, I see my browser windows containing CNN.com and
decide to view that page. I click on that particular window, but ANOTHER one
of the windows than jumps into focus, ending the flip, but it's not the
CNN.com window that I clicked on.

Blasted newsgroup Web interface blew away my reply by asking me to sign in
again.

So, does this only happen with a browser or browsers, or are other apps
involved, too? If just browser(s), which one(s)? Does it ever happen when you
click on the top window, or only on background windows? If it does happen on
the top window, what happens if you hit Enter instead of clicking on the
window with the mouse?

I just tried every way I could think of to duplicate the behavior I think
you're describing on my system, but I didn't have any luck. This would drive
me nuts!

Do you have any video driver issues on that system? Mouse driver issues?

I installed the latest drivers for my Microsoft mouse, but the problem still
persists. I can click on a specific window in the 'rolodex' view, but the
window I click on is not necessarily the one that is immediately brought
into focus. Weird and frustrating.

I don't know if the answers will be any help in pinning this down, but I
asked some specific questions in my previous message about the behavior
you're seeing. Could you do some testing and answer those questions. As I
said, I might not be able to help, but the more precise our information about
what you're seeing the better chance there is that someone may be able to
help.
