Flip 3D Disappear issue

I had the Flip 3D finally working just fine, until today when I tried to show
it
to a visitor. I couldn't get it to work no matter what I did. I was
embarrassed that it didn't work after bragging on it. I even checked the MS
Vista website for answers. I figured I might have inadvertently changed a
setting, or something of that nature. So, after the visitors left I came
here to look for an answer, and all I did was click on the "Switch between
windows" icon in the quick launch bar, like I had been doing before and only
got the other version of switch screen, but it started the Flip 3D again. I
did no changes other than logging in here to find an answer, and was going to
try the "Personalize" option that was suggested. After finding out it
worked, I checked my personalized settings, and it was already set for Aero.
I think Vista has gremlins hiding, waiting for the worst opportunity to
act-up. My Vista Home Premium version was installed on a new Gateway, from
the factory.

This is not the first time this has happened to me also, since the system
was activated. I also checked here when I tried to get it to work the first
time for answers, and made sure I was using the Win key + Tab, and also tried
the Ctrl+Win+Tab as was suggested at that time. All attempts did not fix the
problem, until just all of a sudden it starts to work. I assumed it would
continue to work, and was doing so, until today. This might be a glitch
that's hidden. Has anyone else had this happen?

An older program running in the background (or one that you are switching
to) may have disabled desktop composition for compatibility reasons.

Did you see any tooltip bubbles pop up in the taskbar?

First, check for updated display drivers on the manufacturers website for
the installed video card. It may be that the version of the drivers that
shipped with the system weren't ready for prime time.

Same programs, different results. It just didn't work, no matter what
programs were running or not running. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it
doesn't.

I saw no tool tip bubbles, that I can recall.

It worked, then didn't, then did. Not drivers, I would assume, because they
are still the same ones. I haven't updated them.
