.... anyone ELSE find this an exciting, non-bloatware,
feature richer than I.E 6.0 ?

Thank, burnr. I'm on my way to check it out.

Frankly, of course I could have found the link myself, but I guess I
was kind of snidely trying to point out that it's probably common
courtesy to provide a link to a program for which one is soliciting
remarks. At the very least, Tattala would be more likely to get
responses to his/her post had he/she done so.

(later) The program is based on IE it appears:

"Win95+IE4 is the minimum requirement. Win98+IE5 is recommended.
SlimBrowser runs on all 32-bit windows systems, i.e.,
Win95/98/ME/NT/2k/XP/2003. A few minor features may not be available
under win95."

Thus, for my purposes it's not something I'm interested in since I use
Mozilla. However, the program seems to be highly rated and those who
use IE may be interested.

Yes, I use this one already for a few months now. A great piece of
software indeed.

With kind regards,

For the browser, here's a direct link I'd saved, to spare turning on
scripting and hassling through six redirects:

.. . . .

If visiting Flashpeak site, another program I'd recommend grabbing while
there is SlimList. It's a straightforward and simple tool for text lists
deliminated as columns. Here's a copy/paste of SlimList's essential features:

: - Multiple column viewing and printing
: - Cut/Copy/Paste list Items
: - Easy to combine several lists
:
: - Automatic sorting
: - Purge duplicate items
:
: - Open URL in a list by double-clicking
: - Locate a specific item by typing it in Edit box.

What I wish ACF had.... A central, eternal "Peeves" thread. Where we could
go off to vent. If such a thread existed, then I would have enjoyed a
followup for a peeve of my own. Those who act as if the text of their
subject header is contained in the body. For example, those who put
"Program X is Greate!" in the Subject, and then in the body write nothing.
Such a thread, an eternal ACF Peeves thread, could be ignored of course
by those not in the mood to read our gripes. Or newbies could read it, to
know about what irritates people, if they're interested.

Then the other component of my daydream follows. That all the flames about
things like posting style etc relocate there as much as possible, to the
ACF Peeves thread, when those flames contain nothing at all on the subject
of the original post itself.

PS. Don't take it to mean much, John, that it was in followup to your post
where I jump in for describing something from my alternative-universe
wishlist. Well, actually it means that it was a more civilized spot, than
after one of the really irrelevant types of flames that occur routinely.

[EDIT]
[Not merely a grammar fix, but that the meaning was not clear in first form]

than after one of the really irrelevant types of flames that occur

Hi
I'm having probs with InstantGet
When I try to change the default download directory for InstantGet at
"Category -> Properties...". everything is 'greyed' out?

Emailed support, - they said
You could try the following step:
1. Select the default category in "category pane".

But this is 'greyed out' too?

Anyone had this prob and got it fixed?

Agreed. I like it a lot.

However, I find 2 little features that are missing that totally ruin it for
me. There is no way to assign tab names, such as "Doppler Radar" instead of
"Your TV 10 Local Doppler Radar Brought to you by Shop Rite Stores" And the
real killer, there is no provision to automatically close other tabs or
groups when opening a new group. If you forget to manually close the group,
you may end up with 79 tabs open.

My solution to those problems is to use MyIE2 as my IE browser shell. It's
not bloated either, and is very nice indeed.
