John

I have something in my web browser that directs me to the
above website instead of the home page I have in Internet
Explorer. I have run a scan for parasites several times
and also checked my settings, and my original home page
is still in there, so I'm not sure what to do next. I
don't find any kind of patch that is specific
to "flashlight" and I already had my Windows XP security
in place. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

It's a newish hijacker. See:

http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=15871&hl=flashlight

To get rid of it, use HiJackThis (download the program from
http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/).
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button. Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and have a look at
its contents.

Before fixing anything, you may like to get a second opinion at

On past evidence, however, removal of the files JEIRED.DLL and MSMGT.EXE
take care of the problem.

John,
The "FlashLight" hijack usually involves having MemoryMeter installed.
