Flashing light issue?

Hello all,

I have an Asus A7V mobo with an AMD Duron 900 Mhz proc in it. It
has been extremely reliable until recently.

In the last week or so, the computer will just shut itself off. Its
almost like someone has pulled the plug on the computer. However, the
power light on the computer will flash on and off until the power
button is held down to shut it off completely. When I reboot, I see
no problems in the boot sequence and even Windows doesn't complain.

Has anyone seen this before? I'm at a loss. I've checked all of
the fans in the computer and they all seem to be working fine and I
don't see any other errors anywhere to indicate it might be some type
of hardware problem.

Thanks!

Tyler

I cannot believe I didn't think of that. I just looked and
hibernation was turned on. That would explain why Windows never
balked when I booted it back up.

Thanks! I just turned it off and we'll see what happens.

Usually the flashing power LED means that the system has gone into
standby/sleep mode.

I don't know if this will be of any help, but a few years ago I had this
problem with an A7V using a 900MHz Thunderbird core CPU, it turned out to be
a flaky power supply. Replaced the power supply and all was well.
