FLASHING DESKTOP!!!! HELP!!!!

OK, when I log in to my user name, the desktop icons and
start bar just continue to flash!!!!
if i restart it usually works, but if other users want to
log on after me, they have to restart the computer!!!!
any ideas????

I am having similar problem - looking for a permanent fix. Short term, especially when in list of files in a folder, right click in an open area and click on refresh. This stops it while you are in that folder
