I downloaded the new service packs for IE6 yesterday, and now any page
requiring Macromedia Flash Player causes IE to stop responding and crash.
I've tried uninstalling the Flash Player plugin, but Macromedia's download
site causes IE to crash! It does download automatically when I visit a site
with a Flash animation, but right after that IE hangs again!
I tried sending an error report, but all the Microsoft site said was that I
probably have some spyware... I've run 3 different spyware-scanning
applications and none of them come up with a thing.
For now I'll be installing Firefox to see Flash pages, but the problem with
IE has also affected my Yahoo!Messenger (can't send Audibles)...
Just curious to know if anyone has any ideas or suggestions to get IE
working again as the other users of this computer don't know how to use
anything except IE and the Yahoo! search engine (they type web addresses into
the Yahoo! search bar and click on the link instead of using the address
bar...) so I really need to find out what is wrong and fix it.
