Flash not backward compatable?????

WinXP- Home, SP2, all current updates
I have latest Flash installed Ver. 8 and it works most of the time. However,
a lot of pages I go to proclaim in a banner that I need Ver 6 or Ver. 7 and
do not run with Ver. 8.
Any feedback gratefully accepted.

It should be, but if a webmaster has created a webpage that only works
with a specific outdated version of Flash (bad idea), there really
isn't anything you can do about it except send him/her an email and
complain.
