Everyone here would be at the same loss as you - more perhaps.

You know what operating system you have (Home, Professional, Professional
x64, Tablet PC or Media Center Edition) and what version of Flash
(Macromedia was bought out quite a while ago and it has been called Adobe
Flash for a long time now) you are trying to install and why. You know
exactly what error you get when you try, in what way you are even trying and
so on...

Share some of that - maybe someone can help. ;-)

MY SYSTEM IS XP HOME

I AM ASSUMING I AM INSTALLING THE 10 VESION FROM THE ADOBE DOWNLAD SITE - I
JUST CLICK ON THERE DOWNLOAD AND IT APPEARS AS IF IT IS DOWNLOADING BUT THEN
JUST CEASES AND DOES NOT INSTALL

AFTER INSTALLING IT I CANNOT FIND THE PROGRAM IN SEARCH. BUT IF I GO TO
REMOVE PROGRAMS THE ICON FOR FLASH PLAYER 10 I THERE BUT WITH NO FILE SIZE
NEXT TO IT - VERY STRANGE

Please, turn off Caps Lock when you post. There is a reason that most of
the published print in the world uses a mixture of upper and lower case
lettering - the simplest (to me) being that it is easier to read than all
upper case or all lower case. (Another is that it is considered - by many -
as the equivalent to shouting.)

Adobe Flash is not a program you just 'run' in the manner which you got it.
It is a plugin, nothing more. To test if you have it, visit the following
web page:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/

As for it having no file size in add/remove programs - also not a large
concern - if it is now working.

Please do not use all caps. "Shouting" is not polite and it makes it
difficult to read what you are trying to say.

Either you have a program that blocks Flash from working once it's
installed (SpywareBlaster has a feature called Flash Killer, for
instance) or you do not have administrative privileges. Open User
Accounts in Control Panel and look for your account name. What does it
say below it?

Also, I asume you are trying to download *Adobe* Flash from this site:

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Correct?

And you can use this site to test that it has been installed:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/

Note: if you don't use Shockwave Player, there is no need to install it.
