Yes flash files (.swf) can be added, and embedded, into PPT presentations.
There are some obstacles in using them, but all are workable. I use Shyam's
toolbox flash insert tool and the Flashback addin to simplify the insertion
and overcome many of the Flash related pitfalls. Check here for lots of
