I'm having quite a hard time trying to get the flash
player to work in my browser. I've tried downloading the
flash plugin and the flash player itself and then updated
the flashplayer to version 7, but still the browser does
not load flash files when i'm on a site that uses flash
files. Can anyone help me?

Kris,

Make sure that kill-bit is NOT set to Flash component.

Hi Robert,

The GUID for disabled entry is placed under "\Ext\Settings\" with Flags
value assigned a value of "1". (HKCU)

BTW, this article was framed during XP SP2 RC1 period, holds good for SP2
final release.

Ramesh,

XPsp2 might give an easier procedure now via its Manage Add-ons
tool.

BTW have you stopped to check exactly what clicking the Disable button
in there does? RegMon will probably show it but I haven't done it yet.

What exactly do you mean by kill-bit? Is it a program that
blocks the flashplayer?
